With my friends and family’s love and endless support, I create Ecstatic’s pieces in my studio in Toronto, Canada. I have designed jewellery ever since I can remember, but had the opportunity to make it my career when I received the Ontario 2001 Summer Company Grant awarded by the Ministry of Enterprise, Opportunity and Innovation.
As a graduate of the University of Guelph’s Studio Art and Art History program, my jewellery is influenced by both the principles and elements of design. Texture and colour are both extremely fundamental to my work, and my style is contemporary and unpretentious.
I find inspiration through travel. Immersing myself in different surroundings and learning about different cultures, whether it be abroad or in my own backyard. I enjoy the balance and repetition that I see in nature and even in cityscapes and I try to draw on those principles in my designs. Wood, bamboo, semi precious stones, bone, resin, glass and vintage beads are used to create versatile and wearable necklaces, bracelets and earrings.
I am thankful for the opportunities that I have had, visiting the Czech Republic, Spain, and the UK. Living in the Carribbean also had a big impact on my style and creativity. I find bead stores wherever I travel and collect distinctive beads to create unique pieces. I draw from my experiences traveling where the history, culture and rich colours I saw everywhere inspired me.
Ecstatic jewellery is for every day. To enjoy and accentuate your best.
